Divya Patel is a Centres for Disease Control (CDC), international Laboratory Branch (ILB) microbiologist.
She is part of the CDC team providing training at the ZAMPHIA 2020 Laboratory unit T2 training taking place at University of Zambia Ridgeway Campus.
Divya is a scientist and public health expert with vast experience supporting PHIA related work.
She provides support to PHIA countries in a variety of areas including protocol development, HIV diagnostics procedures, Data and Laboratory support.
Giving feedback at the ongoing training, Divya has described the trainees as a team of highly engaged and knowledgeable.
She described the participants as being very familiar with the PHIA and that she was confident of the success of the survey.
Being in Zambia for the first time, Divya appreciated the great weather and good hospitality by the Zambian people.
“I plan to go out this weekend to do some shopping and possibly test some local foods” Divya remarked in a feedback chat with ZAMPHIA staff.
The Zambia Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (ZamPHIA) is a nationwide survey being implemented by the University of Maryland Baltimore in collaboration with Ministry of Health with support from The President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centres for Disease Control (CDC).
