The Zambia Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (ZAMPHIA) Project Director Dr. Kumbutso Dzekedzeke opened the ZAMPHIA Central Level Training (CLT) in Lusaka recently.
In addressing the participants, Dr. Kumbutso underscored the importance of the survey and the role of each team. He instructed attendees to give each training session their undivided attention, as they will be provided with essential details for carrying out their duties. CLT participants included team leads, interviewers, and councilors.
Dr. Kumbutso emphasised that the CLT is covering all the crucial aspects of the survey, and that each participant needs to regard all sessions as interlinked cornerstones.
He was optimistic that by the end of the training, all the participants will fully understand the core of the survey and be ready to effectively carry out their responsibilities in their respective areas.
Dr. Kumbutso also urged participants to observe all the COVID-19 prevention measures during the sessions, such as social distancing and regular and proper wearing of face masks.
Dr. Kumbutso also sincerely thanked the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) for making the training and the project possible.
